As part of the spirit of the Children's Month Celebration, FundLife, through its Football for Life Academy Program, hosted the highly anticipated quarterly Learning Festival at the Generation Amazing Community Club on Babatngon Road, Tacloban City. This vibrant event united young learners from various partner schools to celebrate education, growth, and community anchored on the advocacy of empowering every child to realize their potential.
The Learning Festival was thoughtfully designed to serve as both an assessment and a celebration of the student's progress. Filled with engaging activities, the festival ensured a holistic approach to learning. The event was divided into two sessions: the morning for elementary students and the afternoon for high school students, where both groups participated in the same enriching activities.
To ensure students were prepared for the main event, they first participated in four engaging preparatory sessions. These activities were fun and learning, reinforcing essential skills in numeracy, literacy, and teamwork—key personal and academic growth components. After these warm-up sessions, students advanced to five interactive stations featuring games that assessed their understanding and retention of lessons from previous mentorship sessions.
The focus of these activities extended beyond academics, emphasizing essential life values. Sessions on Growth Mindset, Self-Love, and Gratitude provided students with tools to face life's challenges with resilience and positivity. A particularly heartwarming highlight of the festival was the gratitude-sharing activity, where students expressed heartfelt thanks, reflecting on their personal growth and the support they received from mentors, teachers, and peers. This practice not only boosted their emotional well-being but also strengthened community bonds.
The festival was not solely about fun; it also celebrated excellence and dedication through awards. Outstanding learners from all 13 participating schools were recognized for their achievements in categories like Most Improved Learner, Leadership, Best in Attendance, Math Wizard, and Star Reader. These awards underscored the students' hard work and perseverance, inspiring them to continue their educational journeys with enthusiasm and determination.
The event welcomed diverse participants, including 65 boys, 45 girls, and one nonbinary student from elementary schools, alongside 36 boys and 41 girls from high schools. Partner schools such as Ridgeview Park Integrated School, Tigbao-Diit Central School, and Bayanihan Elementary School contributed to the inclusive and celebratory spirit of the day. Teachers, mentors, and guests also joined, enriching the experience and reinforcing the strong support system surrounding the learners.
The Learning Festival served as a celebration of education, resilience, and community. With meaningful mentorship, engaging activities, and a focus on gratitude and self-reflection, the festival left a lasting impact on its participants. As the day ended with smiling faces and well-deserved awards, it was clear that the event was a resounding success, promising even more exciting and transformative experiences for the future.
