FundLife is happy to share the first photos of the Philippines first-ever floating football pitch, located in Maluso, Basilan, Mindanao. The floating futsal court was built by the Yellow Boat of Hope of Foundation to provide access to purposeful play for hundreds of Samal-Bajau children that previously lacked a safe space.
As children all over the Philippines have been dealing with school closures and lack of physical exercise due to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing new safe spaces for recreational and educational play is vital and FundLife was happy to contribute to the project that is initiated by a bonafide community-led CSO focused on helping highly vulnerable children access education and equal opportunity.
In recognition of FundLife's contribution, the pitch was decorated with the 'DREAMS IN COLOUR' Logo, reminding children that no matter what circumstances they face, there is always hope for dreams to come true if we have the courage and persistence to pursue them.
We are excited to explore further opportunities to work with the Yellow Boat of Hope organisation to support its sports-for-social impact programming and give every child all the hope they need to achieve their full potential.
