A total of 46 students from three different partner schools attended the R2T:DADS Program Graduation on June 25, 2023 held at Bayfront Hotel, Cebu City. With the theme, “Gen Z: Creating a Smart and Safe Digital Society.” At the event, the students were made aware about the latest trends and information on digital society; including internet etiquette, the usefulness of AI technology, and social media ethics which they can apply in their day-to-day lives.
During the event, a panel discussion was held which was represented by a student from each school (Junrey Lopez of Cebu City Don Carlos A. Gothong Memorial National High School, June Benedict Labiano of Marigondon National High School, and Jinjin Canoy of Cordova Public College). The students exchanged their thoughts with questions on how Gen Z’s can create a smart digital space, and how much information they’d be willing to share in cyberspace given the new discussions on security and privacy.
The capacity building and program graduation is supported by Give2Asia, and San Lazarus Guild with RISE as the partner Internet Service Provide during the students’ mentorship sessions for 3 and ½ months. FundLife hopes that the pilot students of Cebu’s R2T:DADS will bring their knowledge and skills learned during the training to better use, and to share it to others which is one of the primary goals of the program – increase awareness and capacity of Gen Z’s to be responsible digital citizens.
